On this episode, we have a few news stories including a HHN announcement that indicates a growing problem during the event, another sign that a certain ride at Epic Universe is cursed, and the lineup for Universal Holiday events and offerings was released. We also give our review of the new after hours event, Universal Nights at Epic Universe, that we attended last weekend.

In this episode

0:00Intro: A Perfect Fall Weekend in Orlando and a Show Preview

Zip Travel spot up top, then Jared and Jamie recap a weekend in Orlando for Universal Nights with a Sunday stop at Disney. The fall weather talk turns into Jared calling fall his favorite season in Florida. They preview the Universal Nights review, dinner at Blue Dragon, an HHN announcement, another Stardust Racers mishap, and everything coming for Christmas at Universal.

5:33HHN Adds a Don't Touch the Scare Actors Announcement

Halloween Horror Nights now plays an announcement about every 15 minutes telling guests to keep their hands to themselves and not touch scare actors, or they will be removed from the park. Jared and Jamie say the problem is mostly teens and it has been building for a few years. Jared leans toward a chaperone policy like the ones at SeaWorld and Busch Gardens, while Jamie thinks guests posting incidents publicly would force change faster.

13:30Stardust Racers: A Ceiling Fan Falls and Barely Misses Guests

A huge ceiling fan fell in the Stardust Racers building and barely missed guests, with Universal executives seen coming out to look at it. Given the height of that ceiling, a fall like that could have killed someone. They tie it to the ride's string of problems and worry the perception alone will hurt one of Epic Universe's headliners.

18:30Universal Holidays Details: November 14 Through January 3

Universal's Christmas season runs November 14 to January 3. Epic Universe gets holiday decor and seasonal food in Isle of Berk and Super Nintendo World, plus Celestial Park as a cosmic winter wonderland, while Universal Studios Florida brings back the Macy's parade, Earl the Squirrel, and the Holiday Tribute Store, and Islands of Adventure brings Grinchmas and the Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle. They also cover the Holiday Tour from $69.99, passholder perks, and hotel discounts up to 40 percent. Their take: Universal's Christmas keeps getting better, but Disney still owns Christmas the way Universal owns Halloween.

26:44Universal Nights at Epic Universe Review

Universal Nights is Universal's own after hours event at Epic Universe, $179 per person, officially 9pm to midnight, and Jared and Jamie got in at 7pm for early entry. The regular park day ended at 8pm, so the buffer hour stretched the night to four hours. They rode Battle at the Ministry and Hiccup's Wing Gliders twice each, saw Celestial Goodnight from inside the park, and worked through the included food. Their verdict lands at the end: worth it, as long as Universal does not oversell it.

35:33Celestial Goodnight from inside the park for the first time
